Truth, logic and common sense in the public conversation.
Citizen Concerned is an independent South African platform for commentary, questions and community discussion.
Why we exist
Citizen Concerned began as a response to a public conversation that often felt too willing to accept poor answers, weak accountability and political division.
Our work creates room for clear questions about South Africa's politics, policy, economy and culture. We want people to examine claims, ask who is responsible, and participate in the future of the country we share.
Our flagship project, Beware Of The Comrades, carries that message through video, commentary and conversation.
Citizens deserve evidence, accountability and the freedom to challenge ideas without closing the door on one another.
What guides the work
01 / 03Facts first
We look for primary sources, clear evidence and the difference between what is known and what is claimed.
Questions welcome
Difficult questions are part of a healthy democracy. Commentary should be open to scrutiny and disagreement.
Community matters
The work grows through people who read, watch, listen, contribute and keep the conversation constructive.
A project built for participation.
Katlego Moagi started Citizen Concerned with her husband, who works with her as co-writer, producer and director.
The platform brings together video, podcast conversations, written discussion and practical support through the shop. Every part is intended to help more people engage with the issues shaping their lives.
